The Birch Park Beach HOA is recognized by the city of Fort Lauderdale as the official representative of Birch Park Beach and acts in that role by:
- Being an active member of the City of Fort Lauderdale Civic Associations and having a monthly report to announce current matters and issues
- Representing Birch Park Beach members in ongoing discussions regarding vacation rentals
- Providing a forum for political candidates
- Representing the interests of our neighborhood with the City Commissioner
- Acting as a liaison with Fort Lauderdale Code Enforcement
- Providing a channel to the city for our members to voice their wants and needs
- Lobbying on behalf of Birch Park Beach for any improvement funds being awarded through federal, state, county and city programs
- Representing Birch Park Beach interests with the Parks Department
The Birch Park Beach HOA is constantly working to improve the appearance of our community through projects such as:
- Keeping the streets, posts and landscaping beautiful and in good repair
- Getting involved in cleanups
- Maintaining our home values and desirable community features
- Raising funds and applying for neighborhood improvement grants (asphalt removal, sign posts, entry way signs, swale recovery, etc.)
- Planning and applying for funds with the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (road, pedestrian, and bike lane improvements)
Birch Park Beach residents have a Board of Directors that has their interests at heart and is working in their favor. The HOA fosters a sense of community by:
- Maintaining a robust membership
- Raising funds to pay for HOA activities
- Organizing events such as the Air Show to include beach presence, food and entertainment
- Having discussions on current and potential issues that affect our neighborhood
The Birch Park Beach HOA works with the city of Fort Lauderdale police department by:
- Receiving a monthly police report and statistics on crime in the city which is passed on to HOA residents
- Hosting the police at meetings where they provide tips on how to minimize crime
- Acting as a liaison with the neighborhood police unit
- Requesting action plans and progress reports to address crime spikes
- Slowing traffic with the aid of the police force and signs
- Representing concerns with the Transportation and Mobility Department regarding traffic and road safety
The Birch Park Beach HOA impacts development in our community by:
- Working with builders of other nearby projects
- Establishing a strong representation of Birch Park Beach in any proposed construction or traffic problems that affect the tranquility, safety, and property values of our members
- Represent neighborhood interests when reviewing development proposals affecting our area
